Reusse: Rangers loaded, ready to roll

A menacing lineup that flicked the Twins aside looks like a contender, and the pitchers are even more intimidating.

I will admit, it is nice to see a team like Texas come to town, because that means we actually get to see Major League Baseball.

When the stadium was built I said in four to five years it will be as empty as a tomb. It's gonna happen and shouldn't be a surprise. When you have the Pohlads as owners you have no commitment to win a championship just max the bottom line. Then you have their pal Sid The Tool spinning and dishing out the koolaide and the suckers believe it and at seasons end you get a Participant Ribbon.

How's that pitch-to-contact philosophy working out? This team is dreadful in all angles but don't worry, the Pohlads are still raking in the cash because people continue to finance their garbage of a product.

Meanwhile the hapless Twins ink another starter to the DL. I wonder if Livan Hernandez, Ramon Ortiz, or even Jamie Moyer are available? If so, it wouldn't surprise me to see GM Ryan go after them -- might be able to get them on the cheap! The season has been doomed because the front office refused to add a quality starting pitcher or two. What we've seen from Jason Marquis does not put him in this category...

Ask Nolan Ryan about the pitch-to-contact philosophy. Think it's got them in the past two World Series? Isn't it coincedental that the Rangers got good when Nolan became owner. Think he knows baseball? Yeh think?

Rangers are a perfect example of what a change in philosophy can do. Twins take notice please. Isn't it telling when Gardy says "its sounds different when Hamilton hits the ball". Not when - Morneau or a Twin hits the ball. WE had better get use to this low level of baseball - Pohlads have hired Ryan to be cheap - M&M boys have become average - rest are below average. Until people stop buying tickets - not just staying away - things will not change. The days of the Twins as a respectable team are over. This team need a makeover and it needs to start with a new philosophy - new GM and new manager.

Despite their improvement the Twins have owned Texas until this season. They have dominated them at home. We just need this team to start playing like they are capable of when healthy.

The Rangers are exactly how you build a team! Power hitters. Hitters that hit for average. Speed. Power pitching. Great relief pitching. Starters that are expected to go way beyond 100 pitches. Which one of these does the Twins have? Zero?!

This team has to and should go completly outside the organization for a new manager and a complete different coaching staff. Everything about Gardy and his henchmen is just plain stale. We'll keep getting after it, blah, blah, blah.
