Speaking of the Free agent market-Rick Spielman might be a free agent next year.

making this guy GM tells you Zygi also has no clue. Vikes organization is a disaster and they want a new stadium. Forget it!

Attention to detail : Harvin 's migraines are now his. How about Chris Cook and the rest of the pathetic secondary. The only reason we got Peterson was because of his injury in college left a question mark. Spielman better not trade our 3 pick unless it is for the 4th or 5th pick and receiving another number one from them. They should try this. Trade their number one pick to Cleveland for thier number 4 pick if they want Tannahill, if they include a number 2 pick or next year number 1 pick. Then when we have the number 4 pick trade that to the next lower team that wants to be guarannteed to get their player. And take the 5th slot and receive another top pick from them. See where I am going with this? A good gm knows how to work the system like the Rams did and got 3 number ones from Washington. We may have to work for some top picks but we should not trade down to lower than5 or the 6th pick. We need to get the pick we really want and also get some picks by trading down 1 or 2 picks. Trading any lower is not smart. The elite players are near the top. Don't blow it Spielman and go for quanity instead of quality. We will not compete this year anyway so get the best this year and next year. Then in 2 years we may be playoff material by then.

You people need to realize it takes a trade partner to do all of this. This guy is solid. Get off his back.

I think Spielman will do ok. I also think that a "short term" view is to pass on Kalil and draft a couple of less talented guys in his place to be placeholders. Even though Kalil is just one guy playing one position, LT is THE major slot on the O-Line, right up there with the Center, maybe even more-so. Don't do it, Rick. Make the right pick. A new slogan.

The key phrase is "The 3-13 nightmare he helped to create". I am done bashing the front office/coaching staff. Spielman is the Wilfs' guy, like it or not. Now HE will be the guy to make the personel decisions. I'm pretty sure that the lack of FA spending, had less to do with Spielman, than the Ownership. The Draft is way different. Honestly, if the Vikes were to draft 10 starters this year, it still would not win the NFC North. This draft, and next seasons' will be the make or break for the team's new GM. There has been alot of bad things said about Frazier as well. Truth is, you can't win, if you don't have the players, and depth, to compete with other teams. As a lifelong Vike fan, I say give them a chance. This season has to show BIG improvement. The Vikes have a great position this year to draft alot of quality players. They also have the alot of picks to be able to trade up to get some more. Lets see what kind of GM you are. Your starting time, for me, is less than 2 weeks away. Don't let us down. Good or Bad, GO VIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Fair weather fans need not apply!!!!

in the 2nd round, vikings are projected to get harrison smith.in the 2nd round that pick can be used to fill the main needs, which is WR, CB, S. so harrison smith, trumaine johnson, josh robinson, alshon jeffery, and markelle martin will be available there. but if stephen hill is available, most likely vikings will take him.my question is for the S, CB, FS, who will be the best player available to take for the vikings 3rd, 4th,4th, and 4th round pick to fill those need 3 major needs?they take smith with 2nd pick and brian quick with 3rd pick. 3rd down RB has been a big need since chester taylor left and i believe chris rainey is best player to pick who can fill that void. rainey is versatile and fast who can line up at slot or wide receiver.

His fingerprint is all over this last place team. He should have been fired years ago and we would have been much better off.

This will be the tell-tale year. He has plenty of good draft choices. Let's see what he does. He may be the only sane one in the Vikings' disfunctional family. This year we will know.

Sure wish we had a franchise QB on the roster. Just wait...Ponder is going to be a perpetual backup and will never be a playoff caliber starter.
