Beastie Boys? What a joke! Another meainingless "hall of fame".
The hall should be renamed to the "Rock Hall of Fame" because far too many groups sure aren't rock and roll. Far too many true rock and rollers have been ignored for the sake of the rockers. The full list is here: http://rockhall.com/inductees/alphabetical
I don't much care for Axl, but he just went up a notch by blowing off this meaningless ego fest. Since Wenner took it over it's all petty rock politics anyway. They should be forced to change the name to the Pop hall of fame, since that is what it really is anyway. Rap, and other forms of music simply are NOT rock and roll and have no place at all in a rock hall of fame. Whoever can curry favor with the losers at rolling stone magazine gets in, that seems to be the major criteria for induction. Good for you, Axl, you aren't missing a thing.
Axl--last true rockstar!! Way to snub this sham HOF that snubs so many!! Awesome show in November at Target Center BTW...
Until Deep Purple are enshrined, I give the HOF no credibility.
Deep Purple, Rush, Blue Oyster Cult, Kansas, the list could go on & on. Britney Spears will probably get in before they do. Rock and Roll Hall of Shame.
KISS my arse!
ABBA is in the the R&R Hall Of Fame, among bands/musicians who are Deep Purple, Rush, and Ted Nugent. The R&R Hall Of Fame is a joke, one of the most meaningless "honors" there is...
So WHO is Gun 'n Roses? Axl tours with other musicians and calls the band G 'n R. He skips the induction ceremony. A bunch of guy's who were In the band over the years play as Guns 'n Roses at the Show. How many versions of G 'n R are out there anyway and WHO owns the name?
Until I hear Deep Purple play "Highway Star" in Cleveland, I'll skip it.
