I helped to open that store in 1978 when I was going to college. Kind of dumb closing off Nicollet but when you were on Nicollet coming towards Lake St you could see why - big ol' Kmart sign that could be seen for miles - best free advertising they could get. Like Jim, I thought then that Nicollet should run right through Kmart, thought it would be cool.

Honestly, the entire suburban area is enough of a reminder of what not to do ever again in the future. the city needs this artery fixed!

Give it a couple years,All K-Marts will go belly-up,Missed by no one! Especially by everyone in that area!

Yeah, keep the Kmart there as a lesson what not to do. And we should've stayed in Viet Nam for the same reason. You won't make the same mistake again if you just keep making the first mistake.
