Wild suck, Twins suck, Wolves suck, Gophers suck, Vikings suck, welcome to Minnesota.

This team needs to give up on Lats, talk PMB into retirement (and save the $4.25 for a more deserving soul), trade Cullen (and his $3.75M salary) as there's simply no room for him next year, and shuffle Backstrom out of town (and his $6M salary.) This crap isn't working. Time to change the approach. And Granlund isn't going to save a thing. The truth is, he's not even the best center coming in next year. That would be Zack Phillips. Anxious to see Coyle, Phillips, and Bulmer next year, but this team needs to re-tool a lot still. And with Chuck Fletcher's abysmal FA signing record...well, perhaps he can trade a few guys for some value.

hey bobo72...here's Fletcher's record...built Stanley Cup winners/not contenders in both Anaheim and Pittsburgh...isn't that a good enough resume for you? it is for me...give him time...took Chicago how many years to get a cup? Wild fans have the same mentality as the rest of the country I WANT IT NOW! It doesn't happen that way...look how long the Blues have waited...years and years...almost lost a franchise and the almost didn't lose at home this year...I think the waiting is over for Saint Louis...

If Lats can be healthy I'd like to bring him back. Dude was good when he played. I think Haula should stay at the U for another year at least and win a national championship next year. Why give up the opportunity to do that while going to school at a place where you're treated like a god? The alternative is to go to Houston and live in a smog infested city where nobody knows or cares who you are. Easy call if I were making it.

lindy_frank123, Fletcher built NOTHING in Pitt or Anaheim, he was NOT the GM. This is his first GM job Lindy, so quit giving him credit just for being in the office when someone else did the job. Fletcher is the offspring of a hockey family and has yet to prove that he can build anything close to what his dad did.

wash, technically you are right, but Fletcher was a part of those franchise builds and I think he has the right idea here. According to national sources, he has created a prospect pool for our team out of nothing in only two years. Moreover, it's hard for a guy to be part of a couple different organization builds and either not to have contributed significantly from their successes or not to have learned from the successes. I think in the long run he's going to turn this team into a regular contender. But you are also right, time will tell.

bobo, don't sell Granlund short. He was the third best player in the draft and has scored a lot of points in a low scoring league. Though I like Philips, he is a high-scoring center in a high-scoring league ... and he plays with two really good line-mates. That being the case, I think the Wild's dearth of quality "middle-men" is about to end.

Out with Lats....$10 million for a handful of goals is FAR too much money paid out for literally nothing in return the last 2 years....Butch? Out. Small, can't hustle or hold his own in a battle, injury prone and time to go. Why are sports the only profession in the world where injured players still get paid millions for NOT playing?? Cullen? One more season...give him a chance to get his game back. Clutterbuck? Hmmm....up in the air on this penalty-prone player...in the box just about every game....Backstrom? Out. Harding has proven time and again that he should be the #1 and can be got cheaper than Backs. Lots of changes need to happen this off-season if this franchise wants to try and keep their fan base intact. I have to wonder what incentives they're going to offer potential season-ticket holders next season? There's hardly a waiting list to get them anymore. Ha, Ha!

Before the start of the W's 1st season, a radio rube asked Lou Nanne if he thought they would be Stanley's Pail contender in a couple of years. Lou was irritated and said it would take at least 5 seasons...well...?
