Called the iBrain, a simple-looking contraption is part of an experiment that aims to allow Hawking -- paralyzed by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's disease -- to communicate by thinking.

The U Military is also working on a helmet for SEAL type that allows for silent communication of a set of basic commands. For every mind locked in a withered body, there is a PERSON who still wants a conversation.
