Though the U will have a new starter in goal, it has the returning talent to remain among the nation's elite.

Great job by guys like Matson and others of setting the tone last off-season and leading the program back from the failures of the last few years. Glad they got to hang a banner before they left. They can leave with their heads high. Lots of young guys with leadership qualities potentially coming back(Alt, Haula, Rau, Helgeson etc.)to hopefully keep this thing going.

Next year... next year... next year... The Gopher mantra!

BC just scored again.

Looking forward to a very competitive WCHA in the 2013 season! Interesting to watch the pieces fall into place for the teams as they reload, rebuild, and reorganize.

"NOMOREBREW" said it so succinctly. Just like a rainbow........., the end is always in sight but never reachable. It's always as he remarked, "Next Year". Well, until The Don Show is shown the door allowing a fresh and long overdue breeze such as Guentzel to enter which will never happen as imperious megalomania knows no limits especially when same is such the sickly, watered down and stale marinara sauce that is Lucia punctuated by a rotten meatball in the form of Maturi............, yes folks, the fix IS in and that elusive pot of gold at the end of the rainbow will always be out of reach. Following the full blown gutting of the Gophers by class act, clean shaven and nicely shorn BC, the post game appearance of The Don Show spewing more excuses than Heinz have tomato, accompanied by Tweedledee and Tweedledum; none other than Messrs. Hansen and Budish, who looked and sounded like a bunch of I-need-a-drink stumble bums replete with their bottle job mangy coifs and haven't-seen-the-working-end-of-a-shaver-in-months said it all for me. And then some. Where's the Pepto? This is where The Don Show has taken once impressive, classy and strong Gopher hockey? Yes. "Precisely". Whew. The Gophers clearly have no discipline, no drive, are beyond complacent, lazy outright, not at all in condition and are simply resting on the laurels of the past. Welcome to The Don Show, produced by "Comandante" Maturi. Undoubtedly John Mariucci and Herb Brooks are having to be restrained, fully chained down in Heaven.

"BC just scored again"...I guess a Sioux fan is used to hearing that

what's their non-conference schedule look like for 2012-2013? show us the tentative schedule for next season...... When do they play Bentley and American Int'l in front of the fans disguised as empty seats?

equinox, maybe you would like to go back to the glory days of John Mariucci, where every single year ended with "wait til next year". Only three Final Four appearances, with no championships, compared to four and two for Don Lucia. Now, Herb Brooks was a different story, as one of the top college coaches of all time, but guys like him don't come around too often. UMTC fans continue to show their lack of connection to the reality of the college hockey world, where every team but one goes home at the end of the year with a loss.

The Gophers have been to 20 frozen fours, and with five national titles, there have been a lot of "next years"! You dont win every year people. just ask BC. They have 3 titles in 15 years, only 1 more than the Gophs do in 10. This was a great year for a team picked 6th.

The WCHA Dominator: BC...17-1-4 verses the WCHA since 2005. DU, CC, ND and WI got W's. ND got the tie in 2008. Lot of WCHA teams have heard "BC scores again!" over the recent years....this year was no different regardless of the WCHA opponent. DU got lucky early in the year.
