St. Jude faults study's death tally, seeks retraction

Medical device maker asked for retraction of journal article about deaths caused by one of its products.

Medical device corporations have to make sure to ensure that test data for their products is 'blind' and random. If, on the other hand, medical research teams are, like, simply using alphabetical lists to go down lists of patient names for which it is already known in advance who the patients are (sometimes even in a personal sense in terms of doctor-patient relationships), it will be difficult to obtain just research results in clinical trials -- just as surely as the same factors hamper justice in courtroom trials.

These products, like those who need them, are very complex. It sounds as if the article they refer to was not unbias and is at very least inaccurate.
