Why not just ship the entire Medtronic hq to Florida?

"To attract the Medtronic expansion the city of Jacksonville offered the company $660,000 in tax break funding, Medtronic said." THIS IS WHY RE TAX CUTS WON'T DO ANY GOOD ANYWAY. Corporations constantly negotiate sweetheart deals with needy states or counties and then move on when the time period on that sweetheart deal runs out. Get the money while you can because the moment you blink they'll be gone

Boy they join UHC in sending jobs elsewhere. These local headquartered companies do not give a darn about MN. UHC send 700 jobs to Kansas and 600 to AZ. So that local HQ powerhouse myth the politicians like to site in their ads for MN is B.S!

Who keeps saying that taxes don't matter? Oh yeah... liberals. Nancy nancy nancy - - - I'll let the tax rate drop if you'll flush out the pretty little tax credits - and yes I do mean the home mortage tax credit too. but I also want to get rid of ALL federal subsidies for private business. Man up business - either you're a private entity or your just trying be the only one in the goverment dole line.

nancy12324 - blame others...that works well doesn't it. This has nothing to do with taxes and everything to do with government giving away money to attract a business, who just as quickly as they take the money will be looking for the next location where they will get a tax break. They are just viruses...chew up the resources and move on to the next weak suspect who is desperate for jobs. Consistant tax structure is the only way to maintain stability.

Medtronic Surgical Technologies Unit is headquartered in Jacksonville so it only makes sense that it would get the expansion. A good business decision based on where the unit operates/is based. Minneapolis/St Paul is still their main location. Posters should really know something about a company before they slam it.

"This has nothing to do with taxes and everything to do with government giving away money" Liberal definition of giving someone something = taking less from them. How generous of them! They are taking LESS taxes not giving them a dime. When you use a discount coupon at the store did the store give you something? Liberals love word games.

"Man up business - either you're a private entity or your just trying be the only one in the goverment dole line". No one forced the politicians to take less taxes. As usual, liberals blame the wrong party.

"nancy12324 - blame others...that works well doesn't it." Huh? Blame who? No company forces politicians to take less taxes. You want to blame someone? Blame the high taxes that keep companies from moving out of state or overseas.
