The Wilf's ALWAYS say the SAME things before the season begins about how they are "emcouraged" about the team and what has happened over the past two years??? They have finished in LAST place in their division and had one of their worst seasons in their entire 52 (Super Bowl-less / World Championship) history!!! All the Wilfs have ever cared about is getting a new stadium at the least cost to them and they way they have been not spending a dime on player, front office and coaching staff is more than enough proof for all us purple homers. Enough is enough, we need new local ownership that actually cares about the fans, the community and winning!!!

@purplehoser say you're emptytrophycase guy aren't you? Just can't leave well enough alone. Enough already. We know where they finished but there is a future.

Say what you will about purplehoser but you cannot deny that this person is a true purple homer and has ALWAYS been correct in the analysis of the vikings and their losing ways. No one can deny that the Wilfs say the same things every year about how the are "encouraged" with the purple's chances all the while hiring front office bozos, low budget and or washed up veteran player talent and clueless coahes that no other team would touch. Look no further than Coach Colonel Klink, Frazier, Spielman, McNabb, Moss just to name a few. Zygi is all about squeezing every nickel he can from the fans and the State, they have absolutely no ties to this community and can walk away at any time without a care or consequence because they will always have their safe haven in New Jersey where they will always live, bank and continue to take all their profits year after year.

carpetbagger owner words carry very little weight. The crew in the front office has never been successful in the roles they currently occupy. How much cap money to bring new blood on to the roster will be available when the contracts of Allen and Harvin are up?

Wilf is running the team ON THE CHEAP. I feel very sorry for season ticket holders. Wilf is waaaaaaay below the salary cap. But I expected this as soon as they hired Spielman and GM. Spielman could never build a team. But, he can run the team on the cheap and get the lowest cost replacements for the roster. That is exactly what he did this year. I would be totally shocked if the Vikings do not finish last again this year for the 3rd year in a row. And I bet the Wilf's really wouldn't be shocked either. Of course they are going to say they like this team so they can sucker in the ticket buyers. But we all know the Vikings did NOTHING to improve the team for the 3rd year in a row. Wilf is Cheap, and is now the new Calvin of football.

The front office is and has been terrible. That being said, I don't undertstand all the criticism about not going crazy in free agency spending. This team will not be very good this year and and 2 or 3 high priced free agents wouldn't all of a sudden make them a super bowl contender. In fact it would just set us back the next couple of years with lower draft picks. Most of the high priced free agents have only a few more years of their prime left anyways. Spielman is right to add younger free agents here and there and save the big spending for possibly next season or the year after when we become relevant. The plan is in place. Now it just comes down to drafting well which I have no faith in Speilman and co.

Have any of the Gophernatics stopped to think what options Mbakwe has. Really, the NBA?? He would have to be a power forward and who can see him playing Kevin Love, Blake Griffin, LaMarcus Aldridge, Dirk Nowitzki, DeMarcus Cousins, Brandan Wright, Josh Smith, Kevin Garnett, and so on?

I belive Mr. spielman is in fact going about this the right way.If we get 9-10 of our upcoming draft picks,to stick to the wall like last year that would be great.I dont think we are ready to contend for the division just yet we could wery well make a wildcard team. then who knows?

Look everyone, Klink was the final say on personel through most of this, Spielman is just getting started running the show. I've suffered through 40 years of this misery too but let's see what he's got after the draft and beyond. And another thing, the Wilf's have never run this team on the cheap ... look no further than the last cattle rustler McCombs who did that. When the stadium comes and the team is closer to contention they'll invest plenty of dough on upgrading the roster.
