People! Wake up! The problem remains. Why must the state figure out a way to subsidize a billionaire from New Jersey who is a member of a NINE BILLION DOLLAR A YEAR industry??? It does not matter where this money comes from (electronic pull-tabs, Vikings merch taxes, user fees, tribal casinos, racinos, etc.) Wilf is extorting money from the state when he can afford to pay his own way. Don't make the 1% richer! MAKE A STAND!!!

Not a snowballs chance in hell of this happening. Too much money going into the Senators and Representatives pockets from Mystic Lake and Grand Casino.

ok, 400 million upfront, before they even break ground on the casino to the state, for the stadium. An additional 12 mil a year towards the horse racing industry, and an estimated 220 net revenue to the state every year once the casino is fully functional. Even if they are only paying 100 million a year towards the state once its fully functional, this is a knockout! I don't understand why the legislators aren't investigating this further, and speaking with other tribal councils to make this happen. Look, we can get 100 mil minimum a year to repay schools, use for roads, healthcare, education, and other needed things without raising taxes. We are investing 12 mil a year into the horse racing industry because of White Earth, and they are also paying the states share of the casino? This is by far the best proposal i have heard, and it boggles my mind that the legislators won't even warm up to this idea. Is it because none of them came up with the idea? No legislator sponsored it? Neither of them can take credit for it? Or flat out because none of them want to get into a legal fight with other tribes? My gosh, this is a slam dunk of an idea, i say make this happen! Remember, part of that other estimated 220 million in revenue, could also be used to pay Hennepin county, or minneapolis share of the cost!

Said Zellers, "We'll stick with what works. We'll tax the heck out of the middle class and poor, to give our buddy Zygi a free stadium."

I have seen plenty of reservations through out the state and the White earth is up there with the Red Lake for poor and poverty. How are these guys going to pay 400 million?? There is a reason they want a casino in the cities and not on there reservation, these Indians are pretty wild i have seen some crazy stuff hunting on there Reservation every year.

"The governor said he doesn't think a metro-area casino is a reliable source of funding for the stadium," Tinucci said. "We don't view this as a factor in the stadium debate." WHAT? & "Electronic pull tabs do?"

This just could work. We could call the stadium Gaa-wiigwaasensikaag, which is the Ojibwe word for dome. American Indians and Vikings have a long history. The coming of the Vikings in 1010 AD is told in dozens of legends and folk tales from the old men of the Chippewa, Menominee, Choctow and Arapahoe. The Indians said the white men wore "ice" (armor and helmets.) The Indians uttered strange words (Swedish) and wore Runic Charms to ward off evil. Where else could these Indians have learned Swedish words except from the Vikings themselves.

I think it's about time to let Indian gaming have a share in the metro area. Why is Mystic Lake allowed a monopoly on location and its band members allowed millions when most rural reservations struggle with unequaled poverty. I've always thought that there should be some benefit from Indian Gaming for all Indians, but then, like some perspectives in this country, let the rich stay rich and keep the poor boy down!
