Sorry but "talent" is not synonymous with Dave Matthews Band

That's OK mrhands. You can save your money for when Bieber or Britney get into town. I'm sure you probably don't mind the lip-syncing and computer enhanced instrumentals as long as the dance routines are amazing. I typically prefer "musically" talented individuals myself, especially ones that have been packing arenas for the last twenty years or so; but, what do I know.

Once again, the city of St. Paul blew it. While I'm highly excited and encouraged by the effort put forth to organize an annual "big-time" event to hopefully increase tourism dollars, city recognition, and what-have-you....city leaders saddle the event with a 10 p.m. curfew. Dah! While we like to dream and think this metro area has a cosmopolitan and coolness vibe comparable to the likes of NYC, LA, Chicago, and even Denver, Seattle, and Portland...the actual reality is we are a big brother to the likes of Des Moines, Omaha, and Oklahoma City. It really is sad.

Tool was my favorite band in high school. That is all I have to say.

Dave Matthews Band: music for people who don't like music.

There's nothing better than outdoor music in the summer, and I wish this event luck. But the story highlights the fact that we desperately need an outdoor amphitheater. Dozens of major concerts and festivals bypass the Twin Cities every summer for lack of a venue (and probably due to 10:00 pm curfews). I'm sure the Orchestra could make good use of one as well. How about the Arden Hills proposed stadium site?

All of the popular "urban festivals" have 10 pm curfews, including Lollapalooza in Chicago and Austin City Limits.

Yawn...very underwhelming lineup. Hopefully next year they can bring in some bands that aren't recycling their hits from 10+ years ago.

@vikings1 of the 28 announced bands only three have been around for more than ten years. Yawn's debut full length came out about seven months ago.

Nagel - "28 announced bands only three have been around for more than ten years." Coincidentally 2 of those 3 recylcing hits from the 90's are the headliners...again very underwhelming. My Yawn comment was more of boredom, I didn't realize there was a band named Yawn, lol!
