I always enjoy Reading Sids column. I know a lot of people ridicule him for one thing or another...but I enjoy his range of topics and his insight. Well done Sid!

Sid, do you think Dungy is going to throw Frazier under the bus by saying, "I think he's doing a terrible job."

hodgie999Apr. 4, 1210:42 PM

If I were John Anderson I would tell the U to go pound sand as well. Guy has done a good job and deserves more respect then to put that language into his contract.

Frazier has yet to beat a NFC North Division opponent in his one and a half years as head coach. I'll give him a pass on not being able to beat the packers and bears but what is even more pathetic than that is his inability to beat the Lions after three tries!!! Frazier is not completely to blame for the vikings losing ways (which will continue as long as he is the head coach) but he is totally clueless and will be let go immediately after his contract is up along with Rick Spielman. Sid will also go along with these firings after the vikings 5-12 record and third consecutive last place NFC North Division finish this upcoming season.

Oh how I hate "he's going to be just fine" or " they are going to be fine". It evokes mediocrity. We want greatness. Not hearing that here. I'm convinced Spielman and Frazier are losers and it's going to be another long season...

Dear coach Dungy: Perception is different from reality. I understand that you are pitching for your friend..This man(LF) is not an NFL coach. Just my gut feeling, would like to see him succeeed but is not gonna happen.

People please stop buying tickets to the Twins games. There is no reason to reward that club by paying to see that pitiful lineup.

sblakeupApr. 5, 12 9:23 AM

@hodgie, I disagree. I admire Coach Anderson's body of work, longevity and loyalty to the institution and I hope he chooses to stay at the U for a long time. I also fear (if the reporting in Sid's column is accurate) that the coach's contract expectations are unrealistic. It's called "at will" employment and is the norm in the working world. Such a contract also allows the coach to walk away from the job without repercussion. Wouldn't we all like employment contracts stating that we can only be released for specific reasons? Such a scenario will never exist because of the potential for endless wrongful-termination lawsuits. Coach (or anyone else) isn't wrong to feel slighted after showing loyalty to their employer for a decade or more, but it's not realistic to expect other contract terms.

Pease get coach Anderson's contract done correctly. He seems to be the only coach who has consistantly won games and seems never to complain much.. Not only is he a great baseball coach, but he is a huge asset to the "U" as a whole. Get him signed before he leaves..

Give LF a break... He took over a falling apart disaster of an aging team a year and a half ago. Last year the lockout gave him almost no time to get his methods and team in sync. Given the poor situation he got placed in I think any coach would have struggled. Not saying he'll be a great coach but give the man a fair shot.
