"Capps gives up a HR and blows another save situation." Does this sound familiar to anyone? Wow, a 5+ ERA in Spring Training pretty much against single A and Double AA players! Imagine what his ERA will be once he starts facing MLB starters. Don't know why Terry Ryan is giving him the closer role! 95 mph fastball down the middle with no movement! HR!

Get it together there, Cappsy.

Don't worry about Capps, he just has a sore neck from watching rockets fly by his head. Let's hope he has been practing backing up home plate because he will be there more than on the mound.

The Twins have real bookends: the worst #1 starter (Pavano) and worst closer (Capps) in all of baseball. Capps is all on Gardy, he begged the FO to bring him back. Just one more reason why Gardy needs to go, he can't make logical decisions because of his favoritism to certain players.

I think its safe to say that Capps injury to his forearm hasn't improved from last year; unless maybe he's just not that good in the first place...Its not too late Ryan to get another closer before Capps blows 1/2 his saves in the the first two weeks and costs the Twins at least 4 games...just saying

The obvious choice is to make Perkins the closer. Let's see how long Terry Ryan keeps Capps as the closer. He should have been jettisoned last year, when he blew more saves than any player in the majors. He was demoted, replaced by Nathan, and has done nothing to earn the starting closer role since he got here. It was a bad trade to acquire him, and they're compounding the problem by keeping him. His first blown save this year will brings calls for his demotion. Capps was a major reason the bullpen stunk last year. He was relieved several times last year while trying to close a game. Embarrassing! Hopefully Gardy will do the same thing this year, and give him a quick hook.

It bears repeating...Ryan has done nothing to improve this teams chances. Anyone thinking Capps was going to be anything different than he was all last season is a candidate for the looney bin. It matters not that this is spring ball. Capps is Capps, and he wasn't anything when Smith got hoodwinked in a player swap.

yup, So Glad Ryan figured it was good to let Nathan go and keep Capps so he could "Redeem" himself. this is going to be one of Ryans biggest Blunders when they start dropping close games early on because Capp can't " find his grove". might as well start looking forward to Vikings training camp.

by june 1 perkins will be the closer... however, by june 1 the twins will be 10 games under .500 and on their way to 90+ losses again. its obvious that the twin's 're-tooling' in the off season was simply a weak effort to improve this team. ryan loves draft choices....but it takes years for them to develop (if at all) in the meantime, all those twins fans that continue to buy season tickets get to watch a minor league product at major league prices. you have to wonder where this team might be now if they had let joe mauer walk and kept wilson ramos. they might have a balanced team that capable of contending....
