The Gophers cornerback has a better handle on his position in the defense and and his off-field endeavors.

As an ardent sports/Gopher fan, one think I sometimes forget to consider is that these student athletes are kids, away from home for the first time in their lives. I think coach Kill and his staff are pretty good at the mental part when working with these kids. I see a bright future for Gopher football, it has been a long time since I felt this way.

It's clear, St Jerry is Rose Bowl bound.....

Hard work, the straight and narrow and a little luck and a whole lot of "want to..." all help to make the future bright for Golden Gopher Football. It really doesn't matter what anyone else than the kids, the coaches and the Golden Gopher Fans see as possible. One Big Ten win at a time is the way a worthy Big Ten Football Program is built. No trash-talker from iowa or wisky is any more than cheap talker of cheap trash... I don't know if Coach Kill will take our Gophers to the Rose Bowl...but...I certainly do like the road he is taking this program on. It's the high road. They don't know about the high road in iowa. And, it would appear that they certainly don't know how to act like they have EVER heard about the high road in iowa. But, that's another sotry for another day. I like your spirit Jakein08! Never let some iowa trash-talker get you down. It will make it that much more fun taking the high road to where ever it is our Golden Gopher Football Program is going... This little piggy went to market... this little piggy stayed home... and this little piggy talks "trash-trash-trash" all the way home... ; 0 )

Hawk, you still in Iowa? Thought you would have moved here with Floyd, he is getting very cozy in MNPLS.

As a long time Gopher football fan for more than 60 years, I do hope that they do well this year and improve in the won-lost column as well. No guarantees, of course, and early injuries to key players on a team with limited talent could hurt. On the other hand, Coach Kill does seem to know what he is doing and has a record of being successful at his previous stops which bodes well for success at the U of M although it doesn't guarantee success, of course. On the other hand, while Coach Kill appears to know what he is doing, it was also quickly clear that Coach Brewster had no clue what it meant to be a head coach of a D-I level football program as reflected in the results when he was here. Question still remains for me as to why in the living heck did Maturi et al eve hire Brewster in the first place? A rather unbelievable hire!

Good to hear. I like the thought of having a couple of seniors playing at the corners this year. Experience and leadership are two things this defense really needs.
