The reward of a playoff spot is near for Stephen Weiss, who has endured years of sometimes laughable lows with the Panthers.

A piece on the Florida Panthers for the Sunday edition? Really? Really? Russo must be ready for this season to be over and longing for a little post season coverage.

Hmmm...29 years old...making millions of dollars playing hockey in South Florida. Doesn't sound like a black hole to me at all...

I understand Russo's Florida connection started out as just joking around, but really, who in Minnesota, other than he apparently, gives a rip about Florida, the Panthers or Boca. Just wasted effort and strib column space.

Good story about a good guy. Hope that the Wild can mirror Florida's resurrection into a very good hockey team sometime soon. Thanks Mike.

Also , if you don't like Russo's writings pick up a copy of the St Paul paper and read some really poor hockey coverage. I believe that the Pioneer Press currently has at least three individuals rotating through their NHL coverage. Most of the St Paul writing quality is well below the very capable coverage of Russo. If I wish to get any current NHL/Wild information I get it online through the Star/Tribune. Keep up the great work Mike.

Nice team turn-around by Dale Tallon in 2 years span of time; wonder if he could have done the same thing for the Wild?
