The Twins haven't made it official yet, but it's becoming increasingly clear Chris Parmelee will be their Opening Day first baseman if Justin Morneau remains strictly in a DH role.

Huge upside to having both Morneau and Parmelee's bats in the lineup on a consistent basis, especially since Justin seems to be coming around at the plate as of late.

It's "RBI's" for those of you not qualified to write a baseball story!!!!!! As in Dozier had 3 RBI's, good grief.

@redtheidiot Really? So Dozier had three runs batted in's? One RBI equals one run batted in. Three RBI equals three runs batted in. In either case, it's RBI. If you were to change it for plurality's sake, I guess it would be R'sBI, but that would just look silly.

I am fine with Parmelee starting at 1B. If Parmelee can bat like he has proven, and Morneau can stay healthy at DH (which, we don't have a legit DH anyway), then this will help.

Back to baseball, not grammar - I don't wish ill on Morneau, and it would be great if he could get back to playing first, but I am also pleased by the idea of Parmelee making the big club.

Parmelee has potential, hope he can make the adjustments after the pitchers make them to him. I'm also hoping Plouffe can hit at the MLB level this year and doesn't cost the team extra outs in RF

Sounds good....another potential power threat at the plate, which this team NEEDS badly.....A nice year by both would be a plus and help this team out.......Go Twinksssssssssss

I hope that Morneau can go back to playing 1st, because it gives the Twins added flexibility and he was a great first baseman. With that said, if Parmelee can keep playing the way he has, this seems like a great way to start the season.
