With the rise of Kevin Love's game, this can be said with assurance: The two best players in Wolves history will share the court tonight.

Loved Kevin I but anyone who watches close games is aware that while Kevin I throws bricks in the last three minutes of any game, Kevin II throws winners.

KG had a hand in some of the bad decisions the Wolves made, it wasn't all their fault. He lobbied to give T-Hud a contract when he was coming back from ankle surgery, and demanded we bring in the cancerous Sprewell/Cassell. He also wilted under the pressure down the stretch in games. I'll take Love out of the two any day. KG has turned into a bitter old man.

Article should be headed Kevin II vs Kevin III both drafted by Kevin I

Imagine if you could combine Loves offense with KG's defense. I am not going to bother with who is better. They're both great players KG will be in the hall. Love is on track to join him. We squandered KG's talent when he was here. Anyone who followed the Wolves at all knows this is the truth. There are some good blocks to build around Love. But obviously not enough. Look where we're at after Rubio went down. Let's not make the same mistake twice.

I loved Garnett when he was here but he seemed to change into an almost alter-ego when he left. It makes one wonder if he doesn't have some personality conflict or something. Strange guy.

I watched both players through their careers. I have to agree with Jim Peterson. KG was never able to do what Love is doing now. Love's numbers are ridiculous. He was also reasonable with the Wolves at contract time. He wanted to allow them to put together a strong supporting cast so they could eventually contend for a championship. He is a class guy in the community, too.

Love and Garnett are 2 entirely different players. Love demands the ball and is a stat machine. Garnett rarely demanded the ball, to a fault. That said, Garnett made others around him better. He facilitated the offense while Love is the offense. That doesn't necessarily make one better, just different. What is the single differentiating factor between the 2 is defense. That simply can't be overlooked and until Klove adds that piece to his game, I reluctantly have to give the nod to KG at this point.

I find the comparisons between the Kevins pretty funny. I love K-Love and what he is doing, but it's a little early to compare him to Kevin Garnett. It's easy to do it when K-G is at the end of his career and Love is at the beginning. Don't forget KG has an MVP, defensive player of the year award and an NBA championship. He also has been an all-star 14 times (3rd most ever) and has been named to an all-defensive team 11 times. There was a lot of things KG did that Love will never do just like Love can score better than KG. It's a lot easier to say both are awesome players. Also, Love's scoring binge has come mostly without 4 of the Wolves top 6 scorers. Unless Beasley plays tonight, the Wolves will have only one player (Love) who has a career scoring average of 10 points a game. Love has to play 40 minutes and go for 30 to make this team competitive with all the injuries. It would be a rare if one of the other players on the Wolves went for 20 points tonight against Boston.

I loved KG... until he became a dink. Now I love Love. But the difference I can tell immediately between the two is, KG was more of a celebrity on camera - too nice, loosey-goosey; he rambled a lot in interviews, had that stupid talcom-powder pre-game ritual; he had some authority but never really maintained intensity all 4 quarters of a game and never seemed to want the ball for the last 2 minutes..... Love seems continuously 24/7 fierce, hungry; every photo and video interview I see of him he's got this fire in his eyes. He's got a college education under his belt, a streetwise wisdom to him; he just seems to eat and breathe basketball; a baller warrior. He'll be a perennial All-Star for years to come.

"That said, Garnett made others around him better. " Everyone has their own opinion but I differ here. Garnett would get the ball and do all his fakes and feints which did not do much for the flow of the offense. Love seems much more active without the ball which opens up avenues for other players. KG has more assists because he passed the ball more not because he was a great passer. I'm not sure either really made others better around them. I get the feeling Rubio does. KG was a good defensive player. One of my favorite things about him is that he would block the balls of guys that would shoot it up after the whistle blew. He was taller and could probably jump higher but there is something to be said for Love's bulk and tenacity on the boards. I am not so sure he is far behind KG on the D side.
