Frazier still covets a speedy receiver

The Vikings have made only one offseason move with their receiving corps -- last week's re-signing of Devin Aromashodu, who coach Leslie Frazier said had a few bigger money offers from other teams before opting to return.

Before last year's draft I said we should draft Denarius Moore. We could have gotten him in the 4th instead of Brandon Burton. Moore was drafted in the 5th round (Oakland), and scored 5 TD's and was becoming Carson Palmer's favaorite WR. This year Stephen Hill is projected to be off the board before we draft with the 35th overall pick (2nd round). This year, I'm calling out Spielman to draft T.Y. Hilton of Florida Atlantic with our 1st pick in the 4th round (98th overall). He can return punts, kicks, line up in the slot or outside. He has the kind of speed to terrify any defense or special teams unit. I know the Vikings are at least kicking the tires on him because all 32 teams were in attendance at his pro day. T.Y. also has some good youtube highlights. Any GM can find starters in the 1st 2 rounds. It's the GM's that can find starters in rounds 3 thru 7 that seperates the wheat from the chaff. Well Rick you heard Leslie go out and find us a speedy WR. Spielman will now be held accountable for the sucess of the draft, no more Triangle of Authority.

It seems like most people have Michael Floyd and Justin Blackmon rated the highest for receivers with size and speed in the draft. The Vikes would likely have to pass on Kalil to get one of those two so I wouldn't do that. Some wide receivers with size and speed that the Vikes might be able to get with their second round pick are Alshon Jeffery and Stephen Hill. In the third round the Vikes could see Marvin Jones and Tommy Streeter who are both size and speed guys at wide receiver. Marvin McNutt has size and good but not great speed. I would like to see the Vikes take Jeffery with their second pick and then see if Dale Moss of SDSU is still around in the 6th round and nab him too. Any of the other wide receivers I mention here though I think could help the Vikings if they draft them. Use the 3rd rounder, the 3 4th rounders, the 5th rounder, and the two 7th rounders on cornerbacks, safties, and linebackers.

Take Blackmon number one he is a Terrel Owen type. We need great outside receivers and then draft another top wide reciever with second we need 2 top deep threats and then Ponder will be able to relax a little bit more because they won't be able to stack the line. Remember last time we had 3 deep threats in Moss Carter and Reed. A average line could protect the Qb when the defense had to double 2 receivers. Kahli would be great to get but plan on another boring year and also he will learn alot in a short time because he will have to hold his block a long time cause we have no recievers right now. One thing the Vikes should not do is trade our next year number one pick because we will only win 2 to three games this year and I'm not sure who those the teams we will beat.

All teams could use another great wide receiver so I would pass on any of the top ones. Just don't do another Williamson draft. I say draft 2 top ones if available because you know the Vikings one will probably get injured some point through the season. And if that happened we would be boring to watch again. To bad we let all our linemen go. I say draft Blackmon or Flyod number one. It would be great to get Hill with the second pick But we will probably go corner with second pick. The Vikings have done nothing in free agency. Why? Oh I know cost to much. They are waiting for a stadium and saving it if they don't get one and the city that tries to them away will give Wilf a deal and he can then use their money to buy players then. We realize we are so far away from being a contender that so by cheap and slow to get by. What fan even wants to go to a game knowing we don't stand a chance in making the playoffs.

The probability that Spielman is going to draft Blackmon instead of Kalil just went to 3 to 1.

The comments by Frazier in the later portion of the article are scary...at least they should be for Ponder. I am shocked at who he named would start with the players available right now. I hate to think that line up might actually be the starters this season. Bleh....

It sounds like Spielman and Frazier both want to draft Blackmon but how is Ponder going to get the ball to him when he's either on the ground or on a stretcher? Keep it Simple Stupid and draft Kalil.

i think vikings should sign marcus mcneil to a 3yr deal and draft a tackle in the late rounds. 1st: claiborne, 2nd: randle, 3rd: harrison smith, 4th: burfict, 4th: rainey, 4th:dale moss, 5th: tom compton, 6th: andrew datko, 7th: miles buries, 7th: blair walsh

Taking U player D'Jon McKnight would be a good move. Of course taking Eric Decker would have been a better one to attract fans.
