i think vikings should sign marcus mcneil to a 3yr deal and draft a tackle in the late rounds. 1st: claiborne, 2nd: randle, 3rd: harrison smith, 4th: burfict, 4th: rainey, 4th:dale moss, 5th: tom compton, 6th: andrew datko, 7th: miles buries, 7th: blair walsh

Vikings players and coaches need to sensd a message to the Redskins next year. There's no question the Skins were intentionally trying to injure Ponder and Peterson. They kept applying helmet-first tackles; helmet-to-helmet blows; trying to twist Peterson's ankle after he was down, etc...Same crap every time we've played the Saints since 2009. When are the other members of the Vikings going to return the pleasantries? If the Vikings don't stand up for themselve they are going to remain a perennial losing franchise. I'm not advocating dirty, or illegal hits, but they need to let dirty teams like the Redskins and Saints know that their style of play won't be accepted. I'll leave it at that.

Great player. One of the best RBs last ten years. Would have set records for yards if he had a good O/L and wasn't running against eight men in the box. Playing in the meaningless game in Washington cost the Vikes and fans AP and many 1st rd draft picks and set rebuilding back about five years. This franchise just can't do anything right!

nobody knows if he will ever be the same?thats why with the third pick, they may have to draft trent richardson?toby is a good runner but hes not peterson!richardson is a very special back like peterson.if he never comes back the fools better think long and hard about richardson!!!

i agree that AD may or may not be the same (only time will tell), but drafting a RB at 3 would be a mistake. AD type running backs are few, but serviceable to good running backs are a dime a dozen. I also agree that many unfortunate things came out of that meaningless win against the redskins...

Glad to hear it! AD is my all time favorite NFL player, and a class guy as well.

It's just too bad that AP's best years will be over by the time this team gets "retooled" as Leslie calls it. If he returns to full strength by week 4 or 5, the team needs to trade him to a contender for 2 reasons. First so that this kid can have a shot at getting a ring which he'll never have as a Viking and secondly so this team can gain a few more draft picks next year for the retooling process. I'd really hate losing him but for the aforementioned reasons I think it would be best for both and this kid really deserves it!
