What a joke, hire the best candidates no matter what race. Human right groups and Civil Liberties Union create segregation by creating laws to mandate hiring of personnel based on race.

Good luck at finding that many who actually want to work..... And good luck at finding that many who actually have the dedication to work.....

These people that set these goals are so removed from reality it's a joke. 32% ? You're lucky if 5% of total job apps you receive are from minority's. And 40% of that 5% are unqualified. Where is the common sense ?

I for one have had enough of these quotas. Let the most qualified hardest workers have the first jobs available. As a moderate conservative voting left most of the time thanks to the neo-cons' hijacking of the GOP I have to say this is beyond ridiculous. And get this quota garbage out of college admissions while you're at it!

We wouldn't want to have anything radical like oh I don't know. Say, Someone famous who once said, judge a man by content of their charachter, not the color of their skin. All this does is ruin what MLK was striving for and keeps us further divided.

Remove 'Race' from the application and put a number in place of the name. Whoever is best qualified will get the job. End of story.

Now our silver spooned Governor Dayton is going to abandon the unions that financed and help get him elected in favor of non union workers chosen because of their race. The union bosses should wake up and see that justice and fairness do not exist in the Democrat party. The union members are funding Democrat politicians who are trying to eliminate their union jobs.

On about 3/22/12 the initial article on this subject appeared in the Startribune using the word "quotas" instead of "goals;" the next day the article was re-written using the word "goals." No explanation was ever provided .
