Twins send down Benson, Manship, Rivera, Florimon

The Twins this morning announced that they have optioned pitcher Jeff Manship and outfielder Joe Benson to Class AAA Rochester.

Hopefully, Benson is back at some point soon. The guy is a 5 tool ballplayer. I agree with the Twins assessment that Benson is doing everything well except being consistent at the plate. If Brunansky can help him take the holes out of his sweng, and help Joe overcome the typical difficulties young hitters face, we're going to have another good all-around ballplayer on the Twins.

I see WILLINGHAM,SPAN,REVERE,PLOUFFE,being the twins outfielders for the next 3-5 years there is no room for BENSON and the rest of the young guys.

Just send the entire team down to Triple A and cancel the season.Twins one of the two worst teams in majors. Gonna be really ugly.

Sad Butera wasn't sent down or away. It must be discouraging for players at the triple A level or on the roster to see a player with this batting average playing. This type of favoritism is Gardy's major weakness. He held on to Punto way too long and let Redmond and JJ Hardy walk. Go figure?
