Nice piece. Congratulations, all the effort was worth it. There is no substitue for hard work. These are skills you'll take with you the rest of you life. Sure there has to be a winner and a loser, but at this level effort and dedication are expected and must be a standard of the program. Its been a fun season for the fans and there is some unfinished business. Good luck to the seniors who have been through a long haul and may have questioned their decision to play for the gophers. Lets bring home the prize.

Hurry up Gopher fans, the bandwagon is leaving for Tampa. You don't want to miss it! It's nice to see all the support this team is receiving. After hearing all the crickets at Mariucci the last couple years it made me wonder if the Gophers had any fans left. Now I know everyone was probably just really busy every weekend the last three years until this weekend when all the Gopher fans finally got a weekend off so they could rally around "their" team.

Great work by the team and coaches. That loss to Alaska last year was crushing but they managed to put it to good use. Good luck in Tampa!! Take the final steps and reach the goal you set when you decided that the work was necessary to make it. Wish I could go with you but I will be watching and screaming all the way!

NDbirdhunter - what is it with you and other recent UND posters, the obsession with the past? You guys need to start living in the present. We can all pick out past unsuccessful years of every team. Both teams have a very even record of success in the past, very much to be proud of. Deal with the present. This year, the Gophers beat the Fighting Flickertails 4 games to 2, won the full-season conference championship and now move on to the Frozen Four. They got the best of your team this year. Deal with it. Last year, a bad year for the team, they still averaged a respectable 9,943 fans per game. You see, in the Twin Cities, there are many ways to spend your recreational dollars. In Grand Forks, there are only the Fighting Flickertail games and the Olive Garden. (making light of the recent Olive Garden infamy). :-)

Hey ND, can you watch my house while I'm in Tampa this weekend? You've got nothing else going on. Seriously, nice story about a guy who seems to really enjoy his job and does it well.

Great story. It's wonderful to read about people working hard to achieve their goals. These kids have been on a long road - I love the reference back to the early days of youth hockey. Go Gophers!

Lots of teams looked gassed during crunch time except the Gophs. Now we know why.
