Wanting desperately to prove himself to his new team, Wild center Erik Christensen struggled with the pressure he put on himself. Now, he is starting to relax and find his game.

Still don't think the Wild will re-sign him but it's nice to see at least someone on this team has been able to score the last month or so.

He appears to have 2nd line skills on this team, but due to Yeo's rigidity, and the players on the team, there is likely no room for him due to contracts. It would be nice to see him and Rau not be saddled with CC on their line. CC's stye pf play does not lend itself well when its five on five, and he's surrounded by skilled players. He's not creative, can't pass and doesn't cycle the puck weel. He's fine parking himself in front of the net and waiting for a pass, but he's never been one to be good at reciprocating to the others on his line.

Christenson contributed to the Wild not making the playoffs this year. Why does the Wild feel responsible for giving this guy a try-out to see if he can get his confidence ? The Rangers would not.... I will tell you why not, trying to get a lower draft pick, certainly not a noble honest cause but that is how desperate Leo has become to try and get a star to replace Gaby.... Lets keep this real on here instead of kidding each other. I liked Lemaire because he would not do anything to jeopardize the hard work the other guys were doing on the ice unless a player was ready to contribute ....... Had Yeo said work hard and take care of your own end first and I will give you ice time and we hope you can get confidence to help us offensively, I am sure that did not happen because he was like a minus 100..... Now that the Wild are out of the playoffs they go through the motions like they are working hard

While often disagree with our resident nattering nabob of negativism, mgalaforet, and indeed do not agree with his entire post, he is SPOT ON when talking about Clutterbuck. Because of injuries to the Wild top six forwards, he has spent a lot of time up there the past couple years and has paltry assist totals to show for it. When was the last time you said, "wow, nice pass" and it was Clutterbuck? Similarly, when was the last time Clutterbuck shot BELOW the crossbar and didn't shoot a screamer that rang around the boards and became an automatic breakout for the opposition? Lastly, when did one of his checks actually separate a player from the puck, i.e., came BEFORE the player made the pass?

I would love to see Erik Christensen score a hat trick against the Rangers tonite. And score all of the goals while Gabby is on the ice for the Rangers.

Tonight is a must lose game for the Wild. Only the bottom 4 teams have a shot at the #1 draft pick. The Wild will be hard pressed to get there if they can't lose to the Rangers.
