This really is not a new development. Twenty years ago, girls were in demand more so than boys. People could get on a list for a boy, girl or what ever came up first. Boy list was always shorter.

Gail, as stplooklistn notes, this isn't new. I once worked for both LSS and CHSFS. There's no shortage of boys or girls available for adoption; it just depends on what types of referrals agencies have at the moment. Additionally, agencies are the entities that help to create perceptions. Both LSS and CHSFS encourage parents to adopt girls all of the time.
