Hope his itinerary doesn't include Finland, we already have enough stoicism. Since I don't think Parise will sign here I'd really like to see an NHL ready forward taken (Russian) and then concentrate on a top FA Dman. Winning anymore games this year only hurts the team for next year so any minor injuries should be thoroughly rested (hint).

As I've said several times in the past few weeks, Grigorenko is the guy they want. Simple as that. Mikael Granlund is too small and slow to play in this league. Jason Zucker can't stay healthy in college games, let alone in the NHL; he gets bounced around more than Matt Cullen. Johan Larsson is also too small. Bulmer, Coyle, Phillips, and, yes, Grigorenko are the types of players this team needs to move forward. Grigorenko immediately becomes this team's #2 center. He's the guy they want. No more small, slow Scandinavians. Time to get after the Russians.

I think Granlund will look pretty good on a line with Coyle and Phillips. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.

If the Wild wants people to spend $ 8000 on season tickets a year, you could do us all a favor and stop yacking about all of these super duper prospects coming in.... First of all if the player is under 5-10 he will be injured like Spurgeon and that's fair game as we have all learned recently, oh and lets not forget to include PMB. If the player is a normal sized person that player is a goner.......... Fletch in 2009 drafted Nick Leddy (traded for MA Barker- Kimmy-hehehehe) got Matt Hackett who will always be a good back up goalie for Backstrom as long as he is here (I am a huge Backstrom fan)2010 got Grandlund who is the same size as Mister Russo so he is a goner per Mister Shannahan, Bulmer- Larson, good future 3rd or 4th line guys if you want that type Of player being a 3rd or 4th line player on your team and ZUCKER who may be a legit prospect someday, 2011 BRODIN will be a top 4 D Guy, Zach Phillips, please, I suppose he could take a roster spot maybe from Peters............ Zucker and Brodin Legit prospects and Grandlund will be fun for a while but become obsolete per Shannahan

If the past is a view of the future and with the same people picking the team the Wild have today the view is pretty foggy. All I have to say is get someone who could have played yesterday. Don't think the Wild fans are going to go for that " wait tell next year" thing.

icantimagine....do you have any idea what you're talking about? The Wild have assembled a terrific stable of prospects and yes they haven't proven anything but it's much better than the DR days when the Wild only worried about round 1 of the draft and missed half the time with those. To me Bulmer has potential to be a 30 goal guy based on his development. If that constitutes a 3rd/4th liner then we best start planning the Stanley Cup parade now.

Prospects are just that...prospects. None of them are as highly touted as the Oilers dynamic duo, and look how they struggle. Sure give them time, but would not be making plans for a playoff run next year, which is really too bad for the Wild faithful. 4 years and no playoffs for Fletcher is horrible. Put him in charge of the draft, but leave trades and free agent pickups to someone else. And I agree, draft the BEST player available, not position.

I just wonder if Fletcher is going to come up with the MANAGE EXPECTATIONS excuse. It worked for Risebrough for a few years and kept him employed. But honestly, it is time for the organization to put a winning team on the ice. Although it is a different fan base, I expect a ton of buzz around the TWolves next year and the Wild must become competitive to counter. I never watched a full Wolves game until this year and it was entertaining. But I would take a winning playoff bound hockey team any day.
