You mean it is not going to be named "The Peoples' Stadium" like Wilf keeps saying?!?! Has he been lying to us all along on that too? At the very least, he should go with "The Corporate Wilfare Dome."

If the people pay the majority of the costs (which they do under the current bill through a combination of cash payments, tax breaks on building materials, and property tax exclusions) the people should be abel to choose the name and earn the revenues naming rights generate. If Zygi Wilf wants to sell the naming rights and pocket the revenues, he's free to pay for the stadium himself.

I'll be a little annoyed if Target gets the naming rights.

This is just another example of how incompetent Dayton, Rybak and Mondale are. A perfectly good opportunity to minimize the contribution of the city or state and they give it away to the Vikings. If it's not incompetence, it's criminal and all three should be behind bars.

I thought corporations were overtaxed? Surely if that's the case, they won't have any money available to give hundreds of millions to Wilf to put their name on the "people's stadium" (what is this, North Korea?). Oh, wait. Corporations are sitting on over a trillion dollars in cash (oddly, that's about what the total amount of student loan debt is). If they can afford naming rights, they can afford to pay more taxes so we can fix all the structurally deficient bridges out there (for starters). Just say no to Wilfcare!

And since the stadium is funded by the state and city (548 million), and by the Vikings (277 million, 427 million less the 150 Million naming rights), the state and city should receive 548/825 of the estimate 150 million dollars of naming rights or 100 million (2/3) of the naming rights revenue. As there will be no new stadium without taxpayer money, it is natural to assume that the Taxpayer should receive a percentage that is equal to their percent of costs.

In other words, the taxpayers get to pay to build the stadium, so Wilf can get richer, while the consumers pay (again) for higher product costs.

Here are my suggestions; 1. 'Minnesota Taxpayer Dome,' 2. 'Our State Has So Much Money We're Throwing it away on a Football Stadium Dome.'
