It seems like the Wild are trying to dash their chances of getting a great pick in the lottery? Why would MK being on the ice make the team want to win more? We have heard the locker room is quiet, which means our great captain isnt saying anything to fire the guys up. Then when we lose he is not approachable because he is pouting. The whole MK thing doesnt make sense.

Building a winning culture? Lets put the boardroom talk behind us and get real. To build a winning culture you need to have skilled players and depth. This year, like last year, has been destroyed by injury and put us in a position to grab a top 5 draft player that could accelerate the construction of building that "winning culture". To fall out of that after coming this close will only continue the mediocrity. Focus the efforts with the young up and comers on the team. Let the Captain fully recover for the Finland team and generate some buzz for next year.

They should shut him down for the rest of the year.

How you should see yourselves, Mr. Yeo, is a team that is desperate for talent. There is tremendous separation between the top three picks and the rest of the draft class this year. If the Wild blow this again by winning a few meaningless games, someone needs to be fired. Thirteen years is already far too long to build a franchise....

You can paint this as a "selfless act" all you want, but here's the truth: this is a totally selfish move by the always selfish Mikko Koivu; he just wants to get ready for the World Championships while playing for the only team he really cares about--Finland. YouTube this guy during World's and then look at him as a Wild player. It's night and day. He's so passionate and pumped during every shift for Finland...and he looks so bored and aloof every shift for the Wild. Take a seat, Mikko, and let this team work its way up the draft.

I don't understand all the posts about losing to get a higher draft pick. I mean I understand how the system works, but do you really think the Wild are going to win? It is still the same crappy team with the same crappy management. No worries.

waddlzinmn I hope you are right with your prediction. But the Wild have a nasty habit of winning when it hurts their draft position, and when the game means absolutely nothing
