Souhan: How good is Love? Let us count the ways

On numbers alone, he's the NBA's best power forward. Factor in drive, fearlessness and grit, he's so much more.

Nobody in the league is playing better basketball right now then Kevin Love. Thank God we have him on our team, or we would be no where. I expected him to be a decent player coming out of the draft, but I never imagined him being this good and dominant. Keep up the good work Kevin Love. Let's hope the team is motivated by your performances night in and night out and starts to pick up the level of play.

Great story. It says a lot about what drives Kevin Love. People in the past attacked my posts when I compared Kevin Love to a modern day Larry Bird type of player. Give Love a modern day Mchale and Parrish and he will be on his way to some championships. He might have two of the solid pieces he needs to succeed in Pek and Rubio. Time will tell. Love is above and beyond Garnett because, as you wrote, Love loves to have the ball when the game is on the line and he has proven he has the guts to nail it.

yeah, shut up. the strib's articles have been, essentially kevin love kevin kevin love love love kevin love kevin love. the team took a nose dive when rubio left, have won a lot of games because beasley and williams shot the lights out coming off the bench, and because they have great depth. they will not win a championship on the back of kevin love, need a deep rotation of the sort the blazers and pistons had. not only that they're running him into the ground. perhaps you don't recall that garnett was, with lebron, the across the board statistical leader in the nba, 9 point analysis, for a long time. love's a good player, maybe a future hall of famer, though not everything a player does shows up in a 2 stat analysis.

You just have to Thank God for Ricky Rubio and Rick Adelman. Why? Because if not for us winning games this year, Kevin Love would not have a new contract and would be headed elsewhere next season. Best player in Minnesota at the moment!

Nice column. Love deserves some love and doesn't get enough on the national level. But "unreliable as a kardashian"? - RIP Furman Bisher.

Painful as it was to watch Rubio and the prospects of some playoff magic go down the tubes, the Wolves weren't going to win a title this year. That being the case, are they actually better off in terms of getting what could be a significantly better draft pick? Thumbs up for yes, thumbs down for no.

Hey STevenKatz....do your homework. The Wolves do not own a draft pick this year thanks to the Marco Jaric chickens coming home to roost. So no matter if we finished first or worst..we have no pick. So it was all in to win this year. The Wolves would have benefitted HUGE from even a first round playoff loss becuase of the experience it would have given the team. So its SO SAD that Ricky went down. Great article Souhan. It makes me wonder if you can now call Love a 1A player. We have always said we needed to surround Love with a 1A..maybe he's it.

Love is more of a player than KG. Garnett only had a few moves; the baseline J, muscle the middle for a dunk and the top of the key J. After that has was a stiff who punched a college kid in the face. O what memories. Darn glad Kevin Love replaced kevin garnett as the best power forward in TWolves history. Go wolves, grrrr, woof!

Garnett is no Love. I would take Love over LeBron, Rose and Kobe for MVP.
