ice out day which was today near st.cloud
You guys had a decent winter and a great spring. That sure beats a foot of snow and windchills in the teens for March.
I started hearing frogs near Bemidji yesterday.
...so , when can we safely plant annuals?
Not until Mother's Day...as usual. Plant before that..and you're provoking Mother Nature.
Warmest Winter EVER!!! Earliest Ice Out EVER!!!!
Let's see..records go back to 1928, giving us 85 years of records. Earth has been around for what...maybe 4 Billion years. Even after the last ice age that gave us WBL, that's what 3.5 Million years ago? Irony is that if you combine this winter and last winter...divide by 2....you get...average winters.
'Normal' weather for our region consists of large swings. When we actually have an 'average' high or low, we are bucking the natural frequency of what actually makes up our averages around here...especially during the transition months. This longwave pattern has NOTHING to do with CO2 PD!!
