Tsuyoshi Nishioka was sent to Class AAA, opening a roster spot, possibly for a hot prospect.

Does Nishi's demotion mean his translator gets optioned with him to Rochester, too? :-)

We have to remember that Dozier is already 25. How long are we planning on keeping him in the minors??? If he's got half a clue, play him up here. Blackie is another that's got very little time in AAA. Johan never played AA and only went to AAA for a couple months to work on his change-up with Bobby Cuellar in Edmonton. There's no reason to fear bringing Dozier north. The Twins simply have to get guys up here quicker; the 28-year-old rookie bit's getting a bit old. Again, this is the perfect year to do this. Plouffe in left field. Liam Hendricks as your fifth starter. Dozier as your SS. Who cares what you spent on Nishi or Marquis. Really, who cares? The object of the game is, and has always been, to WIN. It isn't to see who can get the best bang for their buck. It's to win championships!!! And those three guys give you a better chance than the current options. Really, there's no reason to believe that this team can't both break in new players and contend for that second wild card spot this year. The talent's there...and if you IMPROVE that talent with good young prospects, you get even better. It's not rocket science.

Have been at spring training much of this year, and am baffled how we keep talking about Carroll and Dozier, when Chang is so markedly better than both? Just baseball I guess.

Nishioka's demotion is part of the Billy Smith era being the Twins General Manager. Meanwhile the Orioles have JJ Hardy and we have nothing in return as Jim Hoey was a bust. It might take years to bring the Twins back to contending in the Central Division.

Hawk37 is right. I've seen Chang quite a bit and I would be willing to bet he would be one of the top defenders in the game with some of these ridiculous plays he makes. He plays ALL IF positions and is GOOD at all of them. It would be crazy not to have him on our team. All this is is a case of writers trying to find a story when they don't have a clue about looking at talent. Go back to last year when they were praising Nish. CHANG is our guy!

It is too bad that Nishi's short Major League career has come to this. One question. Who are/is responsible for scouting this young man and where did they come up with a report that in any way suggested that Nishi would have success at the major league level? I certainly hope that whomever was responsible for the decision to sign him, is no longer collecting a paycheck from the Twins organization.

HOLLIMAN AND PARMALEE HAVE THE HIGHEST OPS ON THE TEAM. PLEASE, PLEASE, BRING THEM NORTH AND LET THEM START AT 2B AND DH AND LF. BENCH CARROL AND REVERE AND PLAY CASSILA AT SS. WE ALSO NEED GUITTIEREZ AND HIS 97 MPH PITCHES. THEY MAY NEED TO SEND MORNEAU DOWN FOR A REHAB ASSIGNMENT. THIS IS NOT UNPRESCENDTED.

Welcome back Mr. Ryan! PS. The CAPS lock key is right above the shift key.

Sounds like the Twins handled the Nishioka demotion the right way. Send him earlier rather than later so he can adjust. Rather than seeing this as throwing in the towel on Nishioka, I think this is exactly what he needs to regain his confidence and form.
