A fight to keep home leads to a new loan

Perhaps the author should get his facts straight. "Bank of America and U.S. Bank messed with the wrong Marine, you might say." Nobody messed with anybody here. The gentleman had a horrible string of events that caused him to not be able to afford his home. Lets not all forget that even prior to the housing debacle, this happened to people every day. In addition, U.S. Bank has NOTHING to do with it, other than they are the trustee. The author's story implies that U.S. Bank did something nefarious and under-handed and only "claimed" to not be a deciding party when in fact, if they really are the trustee, their claim is 100% true. Sheesh....this is why I only visit the Strib occasionally.
