I think I would feel a lot more anger towards Cook had Baker chosen to support the DA's case. Obviously an assault took place. But, it appears to have been more of a mutual assault/fight/whatever you want to call it. Young kids do really stupid stuff sometimes. And, I think that's what happened here on both accounts (Cook and Baker). If Baker feels justified in collecting a large portion of Cooks paycheck to change her testimony (assuming that's what happened), then I'm more apt to believe that may have been her true motivation in the first place.

What's the bigger lesson here? Don't hit women....Don't attack a professional football player with a lamp when you are only 5-6 and a buck o five...Don't continue to prosecute a case when the sole victim doesn't press charges and recants her story.

THE END. AND THEY ALL LIVED DOMESTIC VIOLENCE FREE EVER AFTER.

Welcome back Chris. We all learn life-lessons from time-to-time.

I'm wondering why she wasn't charged with assault. She started the physical violence. This is a fairly typical case of domestic abuse. The woman starts the violence and the man finishes it. Who's to blame? Probably both. A diversion and mandated couples counseling would have saved everybody a lot of time, money and heartache.

They are both, Baker & Cook,to blame for this incident. Why is it that physical violence is what people resort to resolve their differences. Baker threw the shoe & Cook slammed her into a wall causing her eardrum to burst. She backs off of her charges. Cook is welcomed back to football. All's absolutely fine until the next time.

This isn't the first time this guy has been "involved" in violence. And it won't be the last. The Vikings will ultimately be sorry they allowed him back.

Actions have consequences. My stepson got a DWI last year and has to blow in the breathalyzer to be allowed to drive to work. It drains your battery and totally screwed his life up and will for a whole year but at least he didn't kill someone. Remember that when you all celebrate St Paddys this weekend.

qwerty123: With that kind of omniscience, you should buy a Powerball ticket today. "Adversity introduces a man to himself." It may not be original, but I like it.

In my mind he is guilty. And I think most people would agree. He did something really bad – he hurt someone.
