Why didn't you just write the headline. Guys the Vikings' won't get. That was a rather waste of ink.

Let's be realistic. The bet is the Vikings would be lucky to land one of these guys. My choice would be Carr. Does anyone remember the names Rodgers, Cutler and Stafford.

Vikings have no excuse if they quit trying to add free-agents before the process even begins. Can't do it all in the draft. Not with the holes/needs the Vikings currently have. I'd like the Vikes to look hard at Landry. The injuries mentioned in the article are supposed to lower his asking price. He's the type of safety we haven't seen in Minnesota since the days of Joey Browner. CB Rogers AND S Bullitt are a couple other guys the Vikes should kick ther tires on as well.

CARL NICKS OG (6yrs $61 mil) -- $10 mil signing bonus and $51 mil over 6 yrs, $8.5 mil cap hit. *richest* Replaces Steve Hutchinson, easily and by the end of the contract he'd still only be 32. BRANDON CARR CB (6yrs $44 mil) -- $8 mil signing bonus and $36 mil over 6 yrs, $6 mil cap hit. Replaces Cedric Griffen, easily and he's only 25 yrs old by the end he'll still only 31. *richest* MARIO MANNINGHAM WR (6 yrs $57 mil) $9 mil signing bonus, $48 mil over 6 yrs, $8 mil cap hit. Replaces every wide receiver not named Percy Harvin. These three players total 22.5 million, right under the cap... more room can be created by cutting Antoine Winfield & Asher Allen then drafting a CB. The team gets younger and better all around.

Nicks and Kalil. I'm happy with that!

If the Vikings are rebuilding which they are. Why wouldn't we have Allen on the block for draft picks? Might be able to get a middle to late first round pick for him. The Vikings can draft Kalil and then possible grab Floyd. Grab CB and LB in round two and more fill other holes later. Let Griffen play right-end. I know he is no Allen, but maybe he could be in a couple of years when we are relevant again.
