My daughter and I cheered for them that season. I got to meet them at the state fair a couple of years ago. Both so down-to-earth. Glad things are going well for him!

It's great he wasnts to give back and help others, but I was bothered by this quote: "but being told 'no' made me more determined to keep going so that people can get the help they deserve." The getting the help they need would've been fine, but getting help they deserve...no, no one specifically deserves it. Every day you can see people doing the things that cause this weight gain...

marathongirl: Yes, but do you know why? Will you judge me for being nearly 300 pounds because chemo caused a 50 pound weight gain? I was overweight before cancer, but chemo causes weight gain more often than not. I've now lost 100 pounds and am more fit than I was in high school, thanks to a common medical procedure that may make you gasp (surgery). Every person's story is unique and should not be judged. The psychological reasons for many people's lack of activity can be treated: they CAN do it, they have it in them, but they need external/medical forces to make it real, not an online anonymous person.
