Much respect to Abdullah! He's a warrior! he can be a great player if we get some BETTER CB's and another FS to help the man in the backfield!

Ps, we need to draft "Harrison smith" in the second round, he's a beast!

blackviking: Harrison Smith would be a nice player to add to the Vikes secondary but as you mentioned the Vikes need cornerback help. We're right there now at the cusp of finding out what the Vikes do in free agency. If the Vikes don't land a good to great cornerback in free agency I think that second round pick almost has got to go for a corner unless something else developes with the #3 pick, the Vikes don't take Kalil, and they end up with a cornerback somewhere before that second round pick. I think it would be a big mistake to trade off the rights to Kalil however.

With 10 picks in the draft, don't be surprised if the Vikings actually trade up from their 2nd round pick, into the 1st round, and get a cornerback (all after drafting Kalil #3 overall). I like this plan, especially if they get a WR in free agency. As for Abdullah, I wish the young man all the best, with the Vikings or not.

Wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole. Ref Morneau!

conormacleod: That would be a great plan. I just wish I would have thought of it. We would just need to move up to what? The 20th pick? We should have the ammo to move up from the 35th pick with a 3rd rounder and I believe 3 4th rounders. Dre Kirkpatrick would look good in purple if he was there at 20 but that could be wishful thinking. Might have to move up higher. I'll believe it could happen if I see the Vikings get aggressive with pursuing a wide receiver in free agency.

Abdullah could be signed to a league minimum contract for a year by some team like the Vikes to see if he can go symptom free for a year. After the year maybe he could look at making bigger money. His current minimum league wage would be $700,000.00 which could be a real bargain considering what these guys are making and Abdullah is still a young and talented player. I would see if he would sign to the league minimum wage and if he would I would sign him. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Vikes let him go however.

You're all overrating Abdullah. Healthy, he's done next to nothing. Check stats. Better yet, watch him play.
