An excellent choice to continue with educating MBAs with the mantra of exporting jobs and importing cheap foreign labor!

During times of extreme high unemployment you will still find her lobbying to import an "unlimited" number of cheap foreign workers.

How is she an expert?? Does she have any real world experience or is she a "hanger on" professional student??? This is why we need higher ed budget cuts. Too many people working in colleges with no real world experience!

The easy choice for a business school content with sliding into mediocrity. Hiring a new dean is an opportunity to bring in outside blood with broader experieince and the external perspective to push the organization to new heights, rather than simply maintaining the status quo. Opportunity lost.

The out going Dean will help in the transition for the next year at 1.5 times their annual salary. Each will have their own staffs and offices.

Bunch of haters on here....Carlson is a great school and helps large companies like Medtronic, 3M, Target, Best Buy, and General Mills keep good paying jobs here in the Twin Cities by providing a recruiting hot-spot right in their backyards. These relationships are very important to our state's success.

You guys don't know what you're talking about. I've had a few very close contacts within Carlson for a long time, although my profession is not in business. Here's why you're wrong: 1. Carlson is NOT "right-wing", just less left-wing than the rest of the crazy CLA departments nearby, which isn't saying much. 2. Carlson is the only school at the UofM that MAKES money. Its dean deserves every penny. 3. As to real world... its professors are actively engaged in consulting and doing real work for large businesses (like those mentioned here). Their works literally saves billions of dollars of wasted resources and helps companies improve processes, products, customer relations, etc. You can't do their job and NOT be "real world". I know little of this new dean, but the critiques here are ignorantly unwarranted.
