The veteran has managed to survive and thrive despite playing shooting guard.

He is a rookie despite his years in Europe. He can learn to shoot, and he can work out and put some muscle on those skinny arms. I love his enthusiasm and love for the game.

I have to agree that Rubio really looks like he hasn't spent a lot of his career shooting. Heck, I'm 54 and never even played beyond pick up games and I'd crush him in a game of Horse. He has to learn to stop and pop off his drive, and he has to learn to use his body to screen off blockers when attempting a layup. He seems totally unfamiliar with what to do when he does get a sliver of daylight at the basket. I think you are seeing his assist number slip a bit as opponents lose respect for his shot and choose to play off a bit as he drives in order to cut down the passing lanes.

Rubio is not the guy complaining about rough play. Kevin Love was not a great shooter during his rookie year. They use to swat his shots like flies in the summer. Rickey Rubio is a competitive player. He will work harder to improve his shots.

Wow, this is an entirely different story from the one posted earlier. For those who missed it, Ruesse opined that Rubio's shooting woes were due more to him being a poor shooting rookie rather than any rough tactics by opponents.

Luke Ridnour is a key member of this team without a doubt. I enjoy his smart play and good shooting ability.

Thank you for pointing out the effort that Ridnour has to give every night on D as he is consistently forced to defend a bigger player. And he continues to be the only player, other than KLove, that can consistently hit a mid-range jump shot.

This team is all about team. If Beasley can understand that then maybe they won't have to trade him. He may be one of those guys that thinks he's better then the team because of his passed reputation. Ridnour on the other hand gets it.

The point is in the best shape it has been forever. Barea had an off night and had 7 assists. Ridnour is showing his stuff. Rubio will work through this slow spell.

We have Ridnour so we don't need to trade Beasley for another shooting guard. If we did we would have too many with Barea and Webster. Beasley is instant offense off the bench and as such he is an important part of this team. The spare parts are Miller, Toliver, Randolph, Lee and Ellington. Who are all very good and valuable as insurance against injury.
