This is a pressing issue for Minnesota? When will the right wing war on teachers end? Where is one lone republican with the decency to stand up and say "enough". How can hatred for teachers be such a motivating factor for people supposedly elected to lead a state? Every day T wonder if they can get any more petty or sink lower and they deliver!
Wow. Sounds like another fantastic 'jobs' bill.
Why is this only for teachers, this should be for all public employees.
How about a bill to prevent legislators and governors from pension double dipping? How about a bill to suspend pay to legislators who are charged with, lets say, a DUI?
SUMMIT - This is a pressing issue for Minnesota? When will the right wing war on teachers end? ------------- The whole goal behind the teachers witch hunt by the right is to privatize public education. Millions of taxpayer dollars are poured into public education each month. Republicans believe that money can be better used to line the pockets of the private sector for profit education businesses. The only problem is, they know they can't legislate public education away outright. So the goal is to make working in public education as miserable and as financially unrewarding as possible until we get to the point that no one wants to work in public education.
As a retired union teacher, these two bills appear reasonable to me.
THE HARD CORE DFL left liberals all foaming at the mouth at the thought of reform. Remember folks, its the teachers union that funds the DFL. I received a reply email after thanking her from Terri Bonoff [ a democrat] as she crossed party lines to support teacher layoff reform. I suppose you union hacks will go after her too.
If a teacher was cleared of any wrong-doing, would they get their back pay?
Now that's education reform! I can already see the achievement levels rising.
Let's see if the governor signs it or protects his buddies.
