They should move the team to lA just so the GREEN BAY PACKERS have to go all the way to LA for their easy win against the vikings each year.

"Some Minneapolis City Council members think their constituents should get to vote on the proposal, which taps city sales-tax proceeds."------ Maybe that should read? Some City Council members recognize the legality of the Minneapolis Charter and the referendum law that was put in effect by being voted on and passed by 70% of the citizens of Minneapolis!

The opposition to this stadium is the same as the opposition to Target Field. I live in Minneapolis and am tired of subsidizing the rest of the state. So what if Vikings players pay income tax. That goes to the state as does most of the sales tax. Why on earth would Rybak support building stadium when the state consistently tries to cut LGA to Minneapolis? Heck they even threatened to take away the food, entertainment and liquor tax that makes Minneapolis the most taxes downtown in the nation just so Rybak would cave and build a damned stadium! I hope there's a referendum and I hop it fails. Then maybe the rest of the state will have to fend for themselves for once.

Some Minneapolis City Council members think their constituents should get to vote on the proposal, which taps city sales-tax proceeds. Actually it's the law. The city Charter "prohibits the city from using the revenues raised from a local tax option or any other City resource valued at ‘over $10 million for the financing of professional sports facilities without the approval of a simple majority of the votes cast on the question, in a ballot question put to the public at the next regularly scheduled election"

Lucas Oil stadium is by far the ugliest in the league. It looks like a big square shed. We can do better than that. My favorite concept was an original proposal to make it look like a giant Norsemen's long boat with a dragon on the prow. A good architect like Santiago Calatrava who designed the similar looking transportation center at ground zero could come up with a good design. That would be a great symbol for the city like the arch in St. Louis.

The Vikings stadium plan as it is right now is a total "no brainer". It is a huge win for Minneapolis and Minnesota. The only "No Brainers" are the council members who would vote against it. But of course, there is absolutely no Mpls Council Member who can cast a difficult vote. They all want to be re-elected at all costs. Gary Schiff included. He would vote against his own mother getting low cost health care at HCMC if it meant he would get re-elected. Thanks Gary. Love Mom.

Once & for all the NFL is not going to move the Vikings out of this large a Market and now with the Bounty Hunters issue going on, and it will go on, the Vikes are here, get a new ploy. Mr. Wilf contribution is slated at $427 Million, $188 Million in Free Rent is coming from Mpls., Naming Rights are being bought by a Bank for $130 Million or so, Wilf's share, $108 Million and the NFL's $200 make it that he's $100 Million ahead. Also, like the StarTribune, he owns land ajacent to the site, 2 small lots that will get Free Parking Ramps for VIP's; there needs to be better information provided to the public.

Let them move and never let another NFL team into the state. Simple.
