I can't wait for a new Vikings stadium. The Metrodome was obsolete befoe it was built. I might even renew my season tickets I let lapse years ago because of the dome. It is the worse stadium in the league.

Only Minnesota will give a Billionaire from New Jersey a Billion Dollars to build a new stadium for a team that has NEVER won a Super Bowl and consistantly finishes in LAST PLACE... Great investment and it's No wonder the state is bankrupt. And 'IF' they build this new stadium who will be able to afford the new ticket, parking and conssesion PRICES that come with a new stadium? Obviously these law makers can but who else???

Special interests lobbying to feather their nests with public money (that gambling money could be spent on bridges, roads, schools and infrastructure, not just a stadium). What else is new? Republican or Democrat, it doesn't matter. When groups have a chance to get something for nothing from government, the lobbyists come out. But this will end up in court in Minneapolis if they bypass the charter. That will slow it down, at least.

Although I'm a Vikes fan and want a new stadium so that the team will stay in MN (which generates a lot of tax income, commerce, and contributes to local culture), I'd be mad if I were a Minneapolis resident and didn't get to vote on this issue. LIke it or not, they have the legal right to vote on this issue. If this same political strategy were applied to a topic that I felt passionately about I'd be absolutely furious and would be calling my congressman.

Gimme Gimme from the folks looking for a handout. There's no reason to spend money for a new stadium when the Metrodome has a new roof and playing surface. Use what you've got or pay for it with your own money.

$975,000,000.00 to play 8 games each year?

medvezhonok....really, a new stadium would make you renew your tickets? Now, I've never been one to tell someone else how to spend their money, but you do realize that you are playing right into the Vikings hads right? With people buying up season tickets and selling out games, companies purchasing corporate suites and the such, the team will feel no obligation to field a good team as people are buying season tickets and padding their wallets anyway. If I could afford season tickets, I would buy them to watch a good team, not to go sit in some stadium.

bigbrad...why do you think the Vikings consistantly finish in last place?? You do know you don't live in Detroit right?? Tickets and concessions will be about the same FYI...
