INSIDE THE DEAL
Why does the Strib keep referring to this as a "deal?" There is no "deal." No one knows how it will be paid for. Any legislator that ends up ramming this down our throats is going to be reminded with the volume set to 11 when the next bi-ennium comes around that if they can't balance the budget without accounting tricks, that they approved this unneeded playground. They sure as h3ll better not try to get more money from me to balance the budget. I'll tell them exactly where to put their budget problems.
Why if the public pays for half the construction costs don't we the public get half the naming rights money. And who gets what from the various revenue streams?
As for naming rights and the revenue it creates for a new Vikings stadium? I thought it was already named? "THE PEOPLE'S STADIUM"? What happened to that?
How come Indy's retractable roof stadium cost $720 million ($777 mil inflation adjusted) and the Vikings fixed roof stadium cost $965 million??
Sounds like a bunch of bull that they can't lower the price $100-$200 million since Indy just did it for a nicer stadium than the Vikings are planning on building.
A complete bail out of the Wilfs! The 49ers are getting 88% privately financed! The politicians are corrupt!
How about we make it an open air stadium in St. Paul? Leave the Metrodome alone and let the VikQueens play outside! How come the public does not get a simple majority vote??
