Only Sviggum seems to be oblivious to that which is obvious to the impartial observer. It's a conflict of interest. No candy coating. It looks wrong, it smells wrong and apparently Sviggum is the only one that doesn't notice.

Another great example of the great weakness of "the rule of law" position the conservatives use frequently. Without a moral and ethical foundation in place to hold the law together, "the rule of law" is nothing, absolutely nothing. For those with power or feel that they have an advantage, the law becomes a tool to pervert "the rule of law" and do so with impunity. There should be no place in in leadership for people that cann't curb their desire for power at any cost. Mr Sviguum and his pals need to be sent home replaced by people with the moral character needed for leadership.

“I think most things in life are manageable,” Sviggum said, expressing frustration that the University didn’t seem willing to work with him on the issue. “People don’t like that my-way-or-the-highway-type situation. They don’t like it in Washington, D.C., they don’t like it in St. Paul at the Capitol and they don’t like it at the University of Minnesota.” good try on the spin but i think that Mr. Sviggum is the one with the "my way or the highway" attitude.
