Injuries are already piling up ... and it's not even March yet

The Twins have had plenty of experience consoling teammates, and it's Joel Zumaya's turn.

Since when is La Velle Mr. Negativity. We don't have injuries "piling up." This is a mis-leading headline and article. Zummaya is the only one with a 'new' injury and it was not a huge surprise to anyone inside or out of the organization. Morneau being honest and upfront about his situation is nothing more than him following Ryan's new philosophy about the importance of communicating accuratately what is going on with injuries and not hiding behind "bi-lateral" anything. Hughes came in with a minor injury and it doesn't sound like anything significant because he's still out there. Right? Let's not rush to name this year as a continuation of last. Please!

I have fished but am not a fisherman and accept that there are millions better than me. However, from what I can see there is no difference between a good fisherman, a really good fisherman and a pro fisherman. Can someone enlighten me?

What a totally misleading headline. Zumaya is the only injury so far. Luke Hughes was injured coming in, and nothing has happened to Morneau. How does that become "piling up" ?

Well said, honnat. I read the headline and immediately panicked, thinking there were additional injuries yesterday that I hadn't heard about yet. Instead, it's Zumaya (hardly a surprise), Morneau (so far, so good) and Hughes (so far, so good). Really, first week of camp and there's already nothing of any substance ot report on, LaVelle?

"injuries piling up"? Me thinks the headline writer over-dramatizes for effect.

Piling up? A pile of one is not a pile... What a total non-story... LaVelle, maybe you should get out of the sun... I think the heat is getting to you, if you think this is a story anyone would find interesting...

Joel, Where else can you earn $400K per year for rehabbing? You will have plenty of time to fish. Get the surgery. do the work and try again. You will regret it the rest of your life if not.

$400K for few days work, NOT BAD. Nothing has changed for the Twinkies, we get all the leftovers every year and these players all belong in a PROFESSIONAL SOFTBALL LEAGUE. pathetic. also, they should of done this last year, but get rid of all the so-called 'conditioning' coaches, absolutely worthless as the leftover players.

Rats. I think we were all hoping Zumaya would be a major contributor this year. But let's be honest, we knew the risks. It was a gamble. You gotta know when to fold 'em, and at least the Twins got away from the table without losing their entire stack.
