NCAA's new kickoff rules likely to stymie Gophers' Stoudermire

If they move the ball up 5 yards for a kickoff, and spot it at the 25 for a touch back, why don't they speed the game up a little and just spot the ball at the 25 and save the show? Do away with kick off teams because that is what this rule does.... With the defense 5 yards closer starting their run and the kicker laying the ball out of end zones half the time now, 80-90% of the time it will be a touch back out of the end zone. For the other 10-20% the returner will be carted off in concussion because instead of one or two hitting him on the return making a tackle like now, it will be six or seven defenders from that five-yards-closer-start standing him up while the other players hit him at full gallop to dislodge the ball -- and really ring his bell.

How about this rule: not allowing tacklers to hold the runner up while a 3rd goon tries to strip the ball. That's not football: that's a mugging.
