"McDonough, however, still hasn't given up on the Purple. "In my mind, it's still the best site and where the Vikings will end up," he said." YA BABY. BUILD IT!

This site should have been cleaned up 20 years ago, but its been nothing but a waste dump for the army and waste that has been sitting there seeping everywhere, mainly the water supply. Maybe I am wrong, but it sounds like our government hasn't given a rats rear for years and said oh well we will keep building around it when we know that its a toxic dump for who knows all what, but its ok because its government land and we can do what we want and nobody around here can do a thing about it, so lets just keep dumping more and or just ignoring it all together. Wilf did do something good for MN even if the stadium doesn't get built there, it opened up the peoples eyes in this state and are now seeing that this place is a dump even though most of it looks ok and green its not even close to it at all. So thank you Wilf and I really do hope that the stadium gets built out there because that will pump so many jobs into the economy and money that is really needed. Plus I hope that this state will also build a casino also, because even if ever Minnesotan just walks in there once a year and loses $20 that is a lot of money that will pay for not just the stadium but also schools and roads once the stadium is finally paid off. But nobody is smart enough to look at it this way.

I don't know all the history of the site but I'm led to believe the Federal Govt owned it and operated it when the pollution occurred. Are they exempt from cleaning up hazardous sites they created? I believe a business is liable for ever! Look what 3M went through. I'm all for cleaning it up,that is if it truly needs it...Then just leave it! Why does land always have to be developed? Just let it grow! This is almost like when the DNR said it had to sell some land off because they couldn't afford to maintain it! Please quit wasting my money!

I agree with iron man 6975 and no mo do. Our paid government officials have left us down. Here is some of the history of Arden Hills and also Rosemount Umore Park. In 1942 both places were productive farmland and our Federal Government ran the farmers off of their land so that gun powder could be produced for the World War II. The war ended and gun powder was no longer needed, but the mess they made was never cleaned up. Today there are 2000 acres at Umore Park that need to be cleaned up and put back into a productive area. We need jobs for people and here is a good place to start.
