Trying Nishi at third would be a waste of time, he just isn't that good. I think ESPN would say he has too a crack, cleft, or fissure in the armor. Better look for a new infielder.

that too shouldn't be in there, but it'll probably get deleted anyway.

Just an early spring training issue of Gardy trying to light a fire under the collective asses of Nishioka and Valencia right away. We'll see if it ignites or fizzles.

Third? Please tell me this is an early April Fools joke... I have a better arm than Nishi. Having him try third is a mistake, and a waste of time. He is a minor-league player and the only reason he is still on the club is the ridiculous 15$ million dollar contract bonehead Buffet Billy gave him last year.

He could not play shortstop, so lets put him at third where he has to make longer throws and more impressive plays. Smart! I do think Nishi will improve with the bat, but I don't know about the glove. Everything that could have gone wrong with Nishi and his first year with the Twins did go wrong. The Twins started him off too fast in the majors (before he knew any english or knew the rules of american baseball). I blame his failures last year on the Twins coaching.

He can't throw. Keep him off the field and DH him if he is able to hit for average. Looked pretty useless last season.

Not sure whether this is a good idea or not....Gardenhire knows if there is a distinct possibility that this could work....gotta get something out of him for the outlandish contract they gave him......

In 2010 the Twins middle infield of Hudson and Hardy had the 2nd fewest errors in basenall. The Twins got rid of those two great players trying to go cheap. Well, they got cheap. The Twins fielding difficulties was a leading cause for their 99-loss debacle in 2011. I'm not saying that was all Nishi's fault, but he was part of the problem. For the money the Twins invested in him, Nishi hasn't lived up to expectations. He never will. Now he's competing for a roster spot with a reduced role. I'm not so sure he can handle it. Hopefully, Dozier will be ready sooner, rather than later.

I agree completely with you twinsfanwy1. Since Harding and Hudson left, the mid infield is awful. I am willing to give Mr Carroll the benefit of the doubt but this team still has no second baseman. The money tied up in Casilla and Nishioka is shameful. Try as I might, I just cannot see a single playoff contending team that would have one of these two playing everyday.

How many games did Nishi cost us last season with his weak arm, throwing errors and .200 batting average? Rather see Luke Hughes who hit .286 with some power and who has a much better arm.
