... where the weather is always pleasant, all the kids are above average, and all the bridges fall down. and you want ME to drive over THAT bridge???
i read all of that, and i'm pretty positive you never got to the point
Turn the Greenway into an always warm-'n'-sunny terrarium. Keep it green and growing all year long.
It's so true, no matter what the project there is always somebody who is unhappy about it... I live near mountains, and a piece of property with a mountain view is a hot commodity around here. And once you spend a million dollars for that vista, you expect it to remain. But then when somebody else wants to build a house between you and the mountains, your property value plummets and you throw a fit. So they come up with a law to protect "open spaces" (i.e. "my view"), preventing future development and forcing expansion upwards instead of outwards - great if you're one of those urban types, but this is rural country, and when there's elbow room we like to spread out, just as long as nobody is spreading out into my precious view. You always see people complaining about the eyesore in front of them, but you never see those same people turning around and apologizing to the people living behind them.
I think this same principle explains why cafeteria food tastes bad. The BORG sends its thanks for your compliance with the new bridge.
