"The Mayo Clinic said Thursday that it will invest $700 million a year in capital projects over the next five years..." And these costs will be passed on to those requiring medical care. Whatever happened to frugality and making due with what you have? There is no way I'm going to believe enough lives will be saved as a result of this new spending to justify the billions of dollars spent.

I am glad that Mayo didn't take a page out of the Viking's playbook and threaten to leave the state unless we taxpayers coughed up half of their capital expenditures. Mayo *IS* being fiscally prudent. They made money and are going to spend that money to make more money. That is how it should work.
