One stupid idea in a long line of stupid ideas Steve has presented. Really Mazeppa voters you can do better than this guy!

A tax holiday for hunters. A tax discount for buying from Minnesota stores on line. The Republicans really are void of any intelligent ideas.

yeah this is the same guy who proposed logging in our state parks..... yeah..... you read that right PARKS, not state forests. He's full of good ideas like copy catting a law like this from Louisiana... that's what Minnesota needs... a race with Louisiana to the bottom. Aren't ya glad its all about.... JOBS!JOBS!JOBS!

mgmcke - What makes you think republicans are the only ones void of intelligent ideas??? Ever hear of Governor Dayton, representative McCollum, representative Waters, Presidents Obama and Carter and on and on???

All this would do is add $5 million to the state's coffers? How about we consider this problem too small to deal with and work on other ideas that are going to generate jobs and make Minnesota competitive? Then those additional working people can spend money at Target and Best Buy and pay sales taxes. Problem solved, and I'm not even a legislator.

I have an even better idea of how to save the state more than $5 million. There are 201 state legislators (67 Senate and 134 House). Each earns $31,000/year. How about we cut out all the legislative salaries? My math puts that at an annual cost savings of $6,231,000.

Let me get this straight, I'm going to pay taxes for online purchases to help a bunch of drunks go out and shoot cows and dogs and houses every fall? I don't think so.

Steve Drazkowski is the same short sighted and small minded person who proposed cutting down black walnut trees in the State Parks to help fund the budget shortfall last year. It takes at least 50+ years for Black Walnut trees to mature for harvest lumber. I see he's come up with another "great" idea to help only a few select people.

Look, I have in-laws and friends who are hunters and I still say this in a small minded solution to help a small few. How about we take the $5M and maybe stop the money shell game they like to play with local governments and school districts. "I'll gladly pay you Tuesday (end of the school year) for a hamburger (expenses you incur) today."

I'd love to be hanging out in the revisers office when he showed up wanting some help writing his latest piece of legislation. I'm told office policy is to maintain a straight face, but I don't believe that's always possible.
